What type of sterilization procedures are followed?

Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines are followed for proper sterilization.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn during treatment for all patients. Disposable supplies are used once and discarded. Non-disposables, such as instruments, are sterilized in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations. Inspection and debridement of all instruments are performed prior to ultrasonic bath, steam, and heat autoclave sterilization. All instrument sets are wrapped individually, so each patient receives a sealed, sterilized set. The sterilization and disinfection processes are also monitored and tested regularly. This includes microbial spore testing of sterilizing equipment, monitoring of appropriate sterilization temperatures and times, and replacing disinfecting solutions.
